Naming Convention:
“Tianzhu” means the pillar supporting the heavens. “Tian”, here means heaven refers to head. “Zhu” means the pillar of a house. The point is lateral to the trapezius muscle, which looks like a pillar supporting the skull. Hence the name Tianzhu (Celestial Pillar).
Location:
In the depression 1.3 cun lateral to Yamen (Du 15), within the posterior hairline on the lateral side of the musculus trapezius.
