Naming Convention:
“Gan” means the liver. This point, located close to the liver, is the place through which the qi of the liver infuses into the body surface. It is commonly used to treat liver disorders, hence the name Ganshu (Liver Point).
Location:
1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the 9th thoracic vertebra.
Clinical Applications:
Disorders of the liver and gall bladder (combine with Yanglingquan (GB34)).
Chest and hypochondriac pain (combine with Neiguan (PC6)).
Indigestion (combine with Zusanli (ST36))).
Anemia (combine with Xuehai (SP10) and Yinlingquan (SP9)).
Headache, dizziness and insomnia (combine with Fengchi (GB20), Baihui GV20) and Shenmen (HT7)).
Optic atrophy and retinal bleeding (combine with Shenshu (BL23) and Fengchi (GB20)).
Lower back pain.
Epigastric pain.
