BL19 Danshu

English Name:BL19-danshu
Gallbladder Point

Naming Convention:
“Dan” means gallbladder. This point is close to the gallbladder and is the place through which the qi of the gall bladder infuses into the body surface. It is mainly indicated in diseases of the gall bladder, hence the name Danshu (Gallbladder Point).

Location:
1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of 10th thoracic vertebra.

Clinical Applications:
Liver and gall bladder diseases.
Pain in the chest and hypochondriac region (combine with Zhigou (SJ6)).
Bitter taste in the mouth.
Biliary ascariasis, severe colic pain or cholelithiasis (combine with Sibai (ST2) and Yanglingquan (GB34)).
Abdominal pain.
Esophagospasm.

Eliminate evil heat from the liver and gallbladder.
Alleviate heaviness of the chest.
Regulate qi circulation.
