Naming Convention:
“Sanjiao” generalizes the water passages of the body and has a close relationship with the spleen, stomach and kidney. The point is below Pishu (BL20) and Weishu (BL21), and above Shenshu (BL23), the spleen, the stomach and the kidney points. It is considered to be the most important place where the qi of the Sanjiao converges at the body surface. Hence the name Sanjiaoshu (Sanjiao Point). It is mainly indicated in disorders of the Sanjiao.
Location:
1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the 1st lumbar vertebra.

Abdominal distention.
Loose stool with undigested food.
