Pangguang means urinary bladder. This point is closed to the urinary bladder and it is the place where the qi of the urinary bladder infuses into the body surface. It is mainly indicated in bladder disorders, hence the name Pangguangshu (Urinary Bladder Point).
At the level of the 2nd posterior sacral foramen, 1.5 cun lateral to the posterior midline.
Retention of urine.
Enuresis, urecystitis and dysuria (combine with Shenshu (BL23), Guanyuan (CV4), Zhongji (CV3) and Sanyinjiao (SP6)).
Pain of the lumbosacral region.
Pain of the lower back and knees (combine with Weizhong (BL40) and Zhibian (BL54)).
Strengthening kidney Yang.
Regulating water passages.
Promoting the functions of the urinary and reproductive systems.
