“Cang” means a place to store or to keep things. “Wei” means stomach. The point is at the level of Weishu (BL21), the stomach point, and is mainly indicated in stomach disorders, poor appetite, retention of food, infantile food retention, pain in the back and waist motor impairment. It has the effect to strengthen the spleen and tonify the stomach. Hence the name Weicang (Stomach Storehouse).
